We finally got going early this morning. We packed up the Power's family and the Perry clan and headed into Detroit to go to the zoo. We have been to the Detroit Zoo so we knew it was going to be a good time. Fortunately, since we got there at 9:00, everyone was still at church and we seemed to have the run of the place. The kids had a blast and were able to run around without really getting in anybody's way. Jake was really taken with the seals, and they had a underwater tunnel that they swam around entertaining the crowd. Emma was pretty tired, but really perked up when we got to the penguins and the monkeys. One of the coolest things of the day was seeing a peacock that had its feathers all the way out. It was absolutely gorgeous.
After the zoo, it was nap time for everyone as we were worn out. The evening is going to wrap up with some marshmallows on the fire and good times with the Powers Family before we head out to Cleveland tomorrow to see the Thornsberry family.
